Music Review

Race

Pritam proves to be the most successful composer of 2007. He returns to big arena with Race. Already climbing the success chart, the songs are interesting as far as its vocals and music is concerned. After super successful soundtracks in films like Life In A...Metro, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Jab We Met behind him, anything with a tag of Pritam comes with high expectations. Race overall is a Chartbuster. It has the power to pull one to its music and makes one break into a jig as soon as you hear it.

Jodha Akbar

A.R. Rahman and Javed Akhtar Saab work together with Ashutosh for the third straight time after Lagaan and Swades. This man works wonders, album after album, and never fails to disappoint listeners. Music maestro A.R. Rahman has done it again. He stands in a place where there can be no competitors; his is a level that cannot be matched. He returns after "Guru" to compose the soundtrack of "Jodhaa-Akbar" that has already been showered with praises. The album comprises of elaborate arrangements with trumpets and drums, wonderful Qawaali composition along with soft, serene and romantic pieces making it a marvelous collection. Rahman has once again proved that what he composes is of a completely different genre, standard and caliber and lyrics by Javed Akhtar are a true add-on.
