Max Bupa Health Insurance Company is 23rd general insurer registered in India

Max Bupa Health Insurance Company Limited, a a 74: 26 joint venture general insurance company promoted by Max India Limited and BUPA Finance PLC., UK has been registered as a General Insurer by Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) on 15.02.2010. With this registration, the total number of general insurers registered with the Authority has gone up to 23.

The initial share capital of the company will be a minimum of Rs 100 crore as prescribed by regulator Irda. It will adopt all the routes — bancassurance, agent, group scheme and direct — for selling its products. It plans to start with the six main cities — Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune. We plan to be in 20 cities in the next three years.
